What do customers look for when buying organic?
An organic certification mark, such as the one provided by
AsureQuality, gives consumers absolute confidence that the product

all the way from 'paddock to plate'.
An important part of this quality control is that the 'purity'
of the produce can be traced through all steps of the supply chain.
Products certified organic by AsureQuality are given a unique
organic customer number that enables this level of product traceability.
In addition, aware that consumers are constantly demanding extra
safeguards, AsureQuality goes one step further and requires multi-residue
testing of randomly selected organic produce to further assure
Gamma Linolenic Acid (GLA) in Wild Evening
So called the Evening Primrose because the yellow flowers only
open in the evening, hence their common name. Evening Primrose
is a common wildflower found in North America, Europe, and parts
of Asia. This plant was used by Native Americans and early settlers
as a nutritional support and to treat against conditions such
as sore throats, stomachaches, hemorrhoids, and bruises. Evening
Primrose has also been used medicinally in Europe since the seventeenth
century. Currently, this oil has once again become popular for
its medicinal properties, and is now a common dietary supplement.
The main beneficial component of Evening Primrose oil is Gamma-Linolenic
Acid (GLA) which is also present in large amounts in breast milk
as well. Gamma-Linolenic Acid is also found in black currant flower
seed oil, Borage seed oil and other plants. It is also found in
small amounts in some microorganisms. Gamma-Linolenic Acid is
a type of unsaturated fatty acid.
What is Wild Evening Primrose oil?
Omega-3 is found in Salmon oil, while Omega-6 is found in abundance
in Wild Evening Primrose oil. Hence Wild Evening Primrose oil
is often just called Omega-6. This pure plant oil is extracted
from New Zealand¡¯s Evening Primroses and contains numerous Essential
Fatty Acids (EFAs) which can only be absorbed from food, as well
as Vitamin E and Gamma-Linolenic Acid which all have beneficial
effects on the human body.
1) GLA (Gamma-Linolenic Acid)
In our body there are many types of unsaturated fatty acids, one
of which is Gamma-Linolenic Acid. This compound cannot be synthesised
in the body, so must be absorbed from plants. Gamma-Linolenic
Acid is in limited supply from the nature, but is abundant in
breast milk and Natural Wild Evening Primroses.
Gamma-Linolenic Acid is an important unsaturated
fatty acid in our body which converts Omega-6 to Prostaglandin
to help with efficient blood circulation. It helps to control
blood pressure, premenstrual symptoms as well as inflammation.
Gamma-Linolenic Acid also helps to reduce cholesterol levels and
prevents thrombosis formation, which helps a number of cardiovascular
disorders and improves circulation and hormone balance to relieve
premenstrual symptoms in women.
2) EFAs (Essential Fatty Acids)
Essential Fatty Acids are one of the main fatty acids in our body
which have an important function in activating the internal body
functions. These compounds are essential but cannot be synthesized
in the body, so these must be absorbed from outside sources. EFAs
are components of the nervous system and muscle tissue, and are
also an energy source to maintain cell activities. EFAs help to
prevent drying of the skin, and are effective in maintaining the
skin young and healthy. Because of these properties, Primrose
Seed oil has been named the King¡¯s cure-all in Europe, and in
England it is used widely as a pharmacologic medication as well
as health supplement.
